Requirements

Compass Film Academy accepts students who are eager to learn the process of filmmaking and who have a drive to implement the skills they develop. Students are required to complete the appropriate application and submit an application fee of $25.00.

Requirements for Application:

  • Completed application.
  • Recommendation letter from professor (teacher), pastor, or employer that attests to the student’s creative ability and drive to succeed.
  • Application fee of $25.00.
  • Official transcripts of most recent education (minimum high school diploma or its equivalent).
  • ACT or SAT test scores (may be obtained from high school or directly from actstudent.org). The ACT school code for Compass is 6098. If these are not available, the student may be subject to taking an entrance test administered by CFA for acceptance.
  • A portfolio of the student’s creative work related to film (video, scripts, storyboards, music, etc.) See the application for specific portfolio requirements.
  • An essay about filmmaking, specific requirements are addressed on the application.
  • All applicants are required to meet in person or via phone with a Compass Film Academy representative.

When all admission requirements have been satisfied, applicants will receive a written notice on their program acceptance status.
