At Compass, placement isn’t an afterthought or a recruiting strategy – it’s our goal. It’s simply good stewardship: God has given the Church individuals with exceptional artistic skill – we want to find them, form them, and help them take root in the industry.
That said, the film business is highly entrepreneurial. Those who succeed do so because they take advantage of opportunities and build relationships. Compass provides access to both, but we encourage our students to pursue both intentionally.
Being called to a life in film means more than projecting meaningful and poetic pictures on a silver screen. The truth is, you will be your own boss, responsible for finding, growing, and maintaining your relationships and income. As a highly competitive and extremely nomadic industry, success will demand an incredible amount of faith and sacrifice.
Compass will be there to help whether you are:

As an Endorsed alumnus(na) working with our Industry Relations Specialist, you will have access to internship, networking, and employment opportunities specific to your areas of interest. These opportunities will be your chance to work, network, and plant yourself firmly within the industry.
Endorsement Policy
Understanding of our Endorsement Policy: Competition vs. Endorsement
(Professionalism, motivation, and general attitude are as much a requirement for success within the film industry as is general and specific talent. Because of that, CFA has developed and enforces this Policy)
It is the goal of Compass Film Academy to help each student realize his or her full potential as a child of God. The Compass staff and faculty believe that each student has the ability to succeed. However, success is not only measured in the grades the student receives, but how the student handles their responsibilities in everyday interactions. Therefore, our faculty and staff will determine which graduates will receive a CFA Endorsement attesting to the graduate’s overall professionalism, motivation, and attitude. This endorsement is necessary to be able to participate on internships offered through the school.
